This is not my original pattern, I remember finding this pattern online when I first started crocheting. I looked at the pattern and memorized it and can't remember where the original poster came from :( But, this pattern is exactly what the title says and I can't help but to share! It is super awesome and super easy. It consists of hdc and sc. Grab a size J/6.0 hook and lets go! :)
*Note that you can use a smaller hook if you like, but I find that using the J/6.0 hook gives you larger spaces and creates more suds. I have made several with the H/5.0 hook and the cloth doesn't sud as well.
I like to use cotton yarn, any kind of cotton yarn works. You may also use acrylic yarn, I have heard that acrylic yarn is better scrubbing.
Pattern:
ch 21, row 1: hdc in third ch from hook, hdc in next 18 sts, ch 2 turn (each ch 2 counts as a hdc)
row 2-16: hdc in each stitch across (18), ch 2 turn
Border: ch 1 turn, sc in each st across, 3 sc in each corner and sc evenly around, fo.
See? pretty easy.
Make several for the home or gifts, they are quick and easy and an great beginner projects.
